Watering the Lawn...

lawn aug 9 2010

... Effectively Preventing Knitting for 2 hours a day... since July 28, 2010.  At least the darn stuff is finally growing.  If you squint and kneel down it almost looks like the green is filling in.  When it's finally grown in we won't have to water it so much.... Then comes the lawnmower. Ugh.

Watering is cutting into your knitting time?! I don't have a yard, so I've never thought about things like that. Have you considered putting a rock garden or something there instead?

Being a BC girl, I found it odd that nobody here seemed to be watering their lawn.  Then I discovered that you don't HAVE to!  It is pretty much a daily occurrence back home, that is until the water restrictions come into place.  Looks like you are going about it all wrong.  Where is the sprinkler attachment, girl?

lol... Yes there are sprinklers!  4 of them actually.  So we go turn those on and let them run for half an hour or so, but they don't reach every edge, and do a poor job of the ditch!  So basically when the sprinklers have run, we have to go out and fix the areas that are still dry.  All in all, from the time I put on my "yard" clothes and get everything finished it takes Mark and I about an hour.  Repeat morning and evening.  Ugh.  At least it isn't a dirt pile / hay field any more!
