As scheduled, the patterns were available on the sock wars website... 4 of them! one was a men's pattern, plus 3 more general ones. Only one of the patterns had photographs, the rest considered mystery ones. Just looking at the Jekyll and Hyde pattern, it looked fairly easy, so I chose it and was off to the races. In retrospect, maybe I should have test knit one or two of the other ones, because once I started in on the one I chose, I realized how much of a pain those twisted stitches are to work. Sigh. Hopefully I get better at them and it doesn't hold me back too much.
9 pm Atlantic Time... the big choice and the cast on!
10 pm Atlantic...

Cuff #1 is finished - simple twisted 1x1 ribbing. no problems there ;)

In the learning process... I actually messed up my first "pattern" repeat (around 6 rows) and had to frog back and knit them again. I think I have it all figured out now, but those twisted stitches are more of a pain than I thought, and my hands hurt a little already from all the awkward hand movements. I hope it gets easier. (Assassin if you are listening... don't worry! I'm tougher than I look!)
Almost time for bed... hopefully when I cast on the second sock in the morning things will go a little faster. You know how it goes, it always seems like things go slower the first time around! Or at least that's what I'm telling myself, since I thought I'd be farther along by now!
Goodnight Knitters... see you in the AM - with tea in one hand and knitting in the other!
